New Millennium Construction team removed the Lead paint of 8 Historical buildings, repaired and repainted the Historical buildings to their orginal color.
History
Melrose Plantation (c. 1848) is a Greek Revival styled mansion Built in the 1840's by John MCMURRAN and his wife Mary Louisa TURNER.
After the death of Melrose's owner in 1883, the house was left in the care of former slaves, Jane Johnson and Alice Sims.
The property includes numerous outbuildings, cisterns, a slavery exhibit, formal gardens, and the Big House, where the TV miniseries North & South was filmed.
